The Home Secretary, James Cleverly, has defended calling Stockton on Tees a shithole.
"Its actually high praise", explained Mr Cleverly. "For some time now, the government has been raising the profile of excrement in the country; we've arranged free doodoo deliveries all over the country, and when I describe something as "batshit" I obviously mean "well thought out and executed" - as in the "batshit Rwanda policy".
