A worldwide earthquake alert was triggered early today after vibrations from a woman's trolley case registered 8 on the Richter Scale.
Daphne Watson (56), who 'packs the kitchen-sink' when she goes on holiday, admits that this year she 'packed a pair of knickers too far' setting off a global earthquake and tsunami scare with the rumbling wheels of her trolley luggage.
'I like to make sure we've got everything with us for the holiday,' she said. 'Bert moans about it, but he'd be the first to complain if he ran short of suits for the beach.'
The couple were on their way to a weekend break when police stopped them on Margate train station after scientists traced the 'earthquake' to Mrs Watson's large pink trolley case.
