Similar to the 1834 Poor Law Act, it will address the following issues:
* reduce the cost of looking after the poor
* take beggars off the streets
* encourage poor people to work hard to support themselves
* encourage bankers in most respects.
Prime Minister Cameron indicates that new Work-Life Units will be introduced. 'They are similar to the workhouses of the 1834 Act but perhaps a little harder. We know this is what the thinking person wants and what the Big Society needs. The Big Society is all inclusive but some need to be more included than others.' Nick Clegg agreed that, 'this is what the Lib Dems have always wanted'.
