My vote goes for Afternoonslow. His welding is shit and his ironwork manky and he's a pain in the arse.
That said, he did introduce the "no toadying, say what you think concept".
In which case David "please can we have back the jobs that we shipped out here to exploit your low wages and magnify the poverty gap causing once again social instability in your lovely and previously plundered country" Cameron

So afternoonslow had an opinion that you disagreed with.
So that makes him a twat does it?
Maybe his forthright approach bruised a few 'lovies' along the way but at least he injected a bit of life into the chat room (5 pages and counting).
Seriously : There must others who would like to post a sub and have biscuiteers give a reasoned, balanced, honest appraisal of it.
Three Fps, a few Nibs and a handful of tickers in nearly two years and over 200 entries suggest I haven't got it quite right and my WOTM award is still some way off. But I would like to know what I need to do in order to improve.
If it's simply not funny, then say so - if it is poorly written, poor use of grammar I need to know.
There is far too much crap appearing nowadays and it is dragging the site down. Clearly some of it is mine.
A few well balanced, thoughtful opinions might help some of us sharpen up our act, point us in the right direction.
You wouldn't let a dog die a slow painful death, so here's an opportunity to have this one put down.
The temptation to say 'your sub is no good because you are a twat' is not enough. Undoubtedly true, but not enough.
I'd prefer to be remembered for posting some decent work rather than just mouthing off in the chatroom.
Would anybody be interested?Posted 2 years ago # -
Oh do calm down. If you stopped ranting a moment, you may observe I am combining the "no toadying, say what you think" with a critique of his smithing as a form of irony.

Over my head Sooty I'm afraid. But there again it is the fag end of the week and I'm down to my last two brain cells. Hope to kill these off tonight with some cans of Abbot.

I started an hour ago with what looked like a nice refreshing sandwich partner - Square Ale. But it's rather moreish so we are hanging up our twatting sticks here and firing up the bbq.

There's no doubt politicians are to blame for most things but it's absurd to accuse them of responsibility for the multinational's exportation of jobs to the cheaper third world.

Hans Blix for saying that he never doubted Blair's integrity. Why the hell not?

Ok, I'll bite.
I'm one of those who just always mouth off in the chat room.
I've been here a while, and so far my FP success is so limited as to be unworthy of mention.
Just because I don't post subs very often, does that mean I'm not entitled to an opinion?
I seldom comment on posts, generally I do this only when I'm making what is (hopefully) a helpful suggestion, praising what I see as a genuinely good sub, or on even rarer occasions, pointing out when the subject matter is so tired as to be better off left to die.
I don't sub often because I accept that I don't have the talent that so many here do, but I do know what I like, what makes me chuckle, and what I think fits with the site.Perhaps I should nominate myself as TotW for daring to have an opinion?

And a lovely mouth I'm sure it is too Ms B. A good comment or lively piece of chat is often far more entertaining than a keel haul through the subs.
