Former Labour front benchers who have publicly spurned Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership will forego underpants during this parliament as a mark of protest. The ‘refuseknicks’ as they call themselves say they will wait quietly in the wings until Corbyn is unseated. Only then, they say, will they put on their pants and return to government.
Some Conservative front benchers have confessed they are ‘disappointed’ not to be sitting opposite Yvette Cooper in this new chapter of parliamentary life. Tristram Hunt, meanwhile, has said ‘going commando’ will be the source of some discomfort, saying he has taken the decision to go without underpants 'to avoid political friction.'
