I'll say RIP Alex " Hurricane " Higgins, a guy who made snooker watchable and popular 30 odd years ago.
Flawed, erratic, compulsive viewing.
Thanks for some great memories Alex, the game needs characters again like you, not these robotic cloned potting machines the game has now.

Hard to decide what was the worst thing about the man: being a borderline psychopath kleptomaniac alkie wife-beater or managing to convince someone that snooker made for a spectator sport.

Seems a mixed responce, however he was a controversial figure.
I think that's why I found him compulsive viewing, not knowing which version would appear.
Quite interesting also, that Al made the logical link from dead snooker players to gardening in 1 step.I might set a new challenge, eg Rugby League Prop Forwards to Gay astronauts, within 2 steps, say.
