Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams has presented Prince Charles with a mangled chunk of wood from the wreck of his uncle’s yacht.
Between handshakes with the Prince, Mr.Adams said he hoped the gift would be seen as part of the reconciliation process between the Irish Republicans and the British Royal family and hoped there were no hard feelings over what happened to his uncle.
The shattered piece of wood is thought to be from the bow of the ‘Shadow V’ as bits of the boat graphics are still legible.
‘Only part of the lettering is still intact’ said Mr.Adams....‘you can just make it out....S*ad** V....it’s not much but we thought that was a nice touch’.
The meeting is part of a four day visit to Ireland by the heir to the British throne and the gift was seen as Sinn Fein’s way of saying welcome.
The Prince was later treated to a dispaly of traditional Irish dancing and to Mr.Adams credit, there was not a grave in sight.

Ouch !
A great headline, but the supporting text could go a bit further.
Aren't the Prince's bodyguards getting a little twitchy, right hands slipping discreetly inside their jackets, waiting for instructions ?
Perhaps the Prince gives him a string-wrapped parcel in return ... or a brand new pair of knee protectors

many stars. Charles may attempt to summon Ents from the neighbouring woods to squash the bastard.

In a touching moment, Mr Adams handed the Prince a small bottle of shampoo, saying "We found his Head and Shoulders floating nearby. He'd want you to have them"
