Cheese Rolling organisers have admitted that, contrary to earlier reports of concerns over crowd size, this year’s event has had to be cancelled due to technical problems, following a commercial deal struck with cheese maker, Dairylea. A spokesman for the organising committee said: “Cooper’s Hill may well be the steepest slope in the area, but no matter what we tried, we still couldn’t get a triangle to roll”.
