The trouble with Allo Allo is that I thought it was rubbish at the time, but now looking back it seems all familiar and comforting...it's the opposite of the Goodies, which I loved at the time, but looks really dated now.
But I think that quite a few of the characters had a go at the "Listen very carefully..." line, although as you say, it was primarily that resistance lass. (Checked at IMDb, and the character was Michelle Dubois, played by Kirsten Cooke...
Looks like the work dried up after Allo Allo, apart from a burst of activity in 2002 on Chuckle Vision...

I always found it funny from the beginning, lots of great characters ,I thought Gordon Kaye had died ? or was after 2008 I was reading something earlier .

Well according to IMDb and Wikipedia, Gorden Kaye is still alive...

I must have got it mixed up with the wife dying .There could be a new career path for him .

Didn't he nearly die - got hit on the head, or had a nail accidentally driven into his brain - something like that?

Wasn't it a bit like Leslie Crowther? He was hit by a falling tree while driving in the '87 "Hurricane"?
(Pft, hurricane my arse. We get hurricane strength winds here a couple of times a year, but we just describe it as 'breezy'.)

Kaye suffered serious head injuries in a car accident during the Burns Day storm on 25 January 1990. Although he cannot remember any details of the incident, he still has a scar on his forehead from a piece of wooden advertising boarding that smashed through the car windscreen.
[Wikipedia]Is it cruel to suggest, then, that when Gorden does actually die, the nation will pause and say "...oh...he was still alive then..."?
Are there any other celebs we thought were dead then actually died?

I think it was the SOE operative, always dressed as a gendarme, who did the "Good moanings"
Gordon Kaye was mentioned recently on a Radio 4 prog about groups in the 60s doing gigs in provincial cinemas. Kaye was president of something like the West Sheffield Tape Recorders Society and actually got to interview the Beatles. They played some of it. He was asking the fab four really searching questions like "Who's your favourite Beatle"Posted 2 years ago # -
