Thinking about it, I'd prefer comments, if people are pressed for time and can only do one or t'other.

I've noticed that if you award stars and then write your comment, the stars are deselected. So, you need to write the comment first. That might explain it. Then again, I might have imagined it. In which case, ignore me.
