Ukraine president Petro Poroshenko today appeared before the press waving a piece of paper bearing the signatures of Neville Chamberlain and Adolf Hitler, which he declared was a rock-solid guarantee that Russia would not be doing any more 'invadey-type-stuff'.
After long and productive talks with Vladimir Putin, Mr Poroshenko emerged with this document declaring that it guaranteed that Ukraine's borders would not be violated in exchange for Germany being allowed to annex the Sudetenland.
Independent observers had hoped that a peace treaty in whatever form would have been signed by Mr Putin himself, but Poroshenko assured everyone that Putin's word was 'good enough for me'.
