Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin says that the HS2 project should have a minimum wage structure separate from that applied to rest of the country. 'We've got shit loads of money to spend' he explains. 'We're going to have to pay people at least £30 per hour to burn through it all in time for the end of the project. My bonus alone is inked in at a million. Besides, thirty quid an hour is about what I pay the nanny, so it sounds like a reasonable minimum to me.'
