I understand that the British Anarchy Party have increased their annual subscription, supposedly because of the increased affiliation fee demanded by Anarchy International.
The Membership Policy Sub-Committee of the local branch of the South West Midlands Regional Anarchy Council have considered dis-affiliating, but I am worried that I might cease to be accepted as a genuine anarchist if I vote for this.
I am also worried about the fact that the South West Midlands Regional Anarchy Council are demanding a referendum of members regarding the issue of whether the membership year should run for 12 moinths from the date of intially joining, or whether all memberships should become due for renewal on January 1st each year.
They intend only allow full members to participate in this referndum, but I can't help feeling that affiliated members should also be allowed a say. Rule 47(d) section J of the appendix to the amended version of their rule book says they should, but unfortunately this amendment did not get the required 2/3 majority vote at the AGM. What do you think?
