ENGLISH football is in a state of shock today after revelations that a top Premiership footballer has never cheated on his wife.
The identity of the footballer, who plays for a top five club, cannot be revealed due to legal reasons.
However, his name and monogamous deeds are understood to be well-known among the football community.
A source close to the England international has spoken exclusively about the claims, saying: “He’s never once looked at another woman.
“He was at his club Christmas night out a few months ago and he wasn’t even interested in getting a lap dance or having a drink with another woman.
“And don’t get me started on his kids – he adores them and would never think of doing anything to hurt them.”
Fans of the multi-million pound player’s club have been left sickened by the claims, especially as he is popular with the youth team, often turning up to help out at training sessions.
Michael Smith blasted: “I pay good money to go and see him week in week out with my sons and they both look up to him as a role model.
“And how does he repay this loyalty? It makes me sick, I mean, why do we even bother paying his wages?
“I heard he doesn’t even text other woman. It’s really not the sort of behaviour I’d expect from a player who regularly represents his country.”
The F.A would not be drawn on the claims, saying all squad decisions were made by the manager.
However, Trevor Nolife, president of the England Supporters’ Club, said: “I think he has to go.
"Whether or not he’s a good footballer, he needs to behave like one and clearly he isn’t.”
