In a moment reminiscent of BBC Radio 1's glory days, the 'Hairy Cornflake' signed off at the end of his stint in the courtroom and handed over to the Chris Denning trial with his usual cheeky charm.
The bearded prankster, who was found not guilty on twelve counts of sexual assault and dismissed on two others, couldn't help but crack a joke about the chances of acquittal for Denning, who has previously been imprisoned for a variety of sexual offences.
"Good luck to you Chris", quipped DLT, "We'll be right behind you... just not with the kids!"
He then added: "I would lend you my ball and chain, but she's waiting for me at home! No, seriously though, all the best."
Denning took it all on the chin, though the joke was on him again when Travis left the dock to the Clash version of 'I Fought the Law', much to the amusement of the jurors and legal teams.
Travis' acquittal means that his mid morning slot will now be covered by a series of local DJs leading in to Denning's afternoon trial, until a more long-term replacement can be found.
