Blind the bad kitties!

I've just had a couple of days in Ross-on-Wye, paddling down Symonds Yat etc. But on my approach to Ross, passing through a little village, I saw a newspaper hoarding which said -

HORROR DOG ATTACK LEAVES CAT BLINDED
- or words to that effect. I never stopped to buy the paper so I don't know the full story. Clearly, if it was front page news in this hamlet, we should all know about it. Does anyone in here come from that part of the world? If so, can you enlighten us?

Perhaps the cat had been watching a DVD of Stephen King's 'Kujo', and was so terrified it lost it's sight.

It wasn't me. I occasionally ask the bad kitties to quietly discuss matters of mutual concern, but blinding is normally forbidden. (Those kitties are very bad, though...)

If you were on the Gloucestershire side of the river, then I'd guess it was the local rag continuing their long running campaign against psycho dogs, and “Staffies” in particular. The Echo and the Citizen are not best known for their balanced and quality reporting.

I come (and still live) in that neck of the woods. However I don't have a dog and have not blinded a cat in years, so this headline has yet to reach my news radar I'm afraid.
