The prediction that 50,000 will quit their jobs this year to care for an Alzheimer sufferer has left the sufferer, Mrs Ethel Greenslade of Tring, even more confused than she already was. She had been badgering her social services on a regular basis requesting more help in her home but with little success, until this latest announcement.
"Maybe I've been pestering them too often - to be quite honest it's hard for me to remember how many times I've been in touch," she commented. "I am pretty certain it's more than a handful of times, but I would be very surprised if I'd requested help anywhere near 50,000 times."
"But I suppose it's possible. My last phone bill was rather steep."
