Activists supporting the Green Party have been forced to admit that they are unlikely to win any EU parliament seats after the cow dung-powered video camera used to film their campaign failed disastrously because of a lack of power.
The Green Party was anxious to assure voters that renewable energy sources such as the methane gas captured from rotting cow manure could be used to fuel micro power cells capable of running devices such as video cameras, mobile phones and hearing aids.
"The decision to practice what we preach and film our first ethical and renewable political broadcast using methane power cells was left us in-the-shit both literally and metaphorically' said campaigner Margaret Moores "And it has left a nasty smell lingering - again both literally and metaphorically and we may now fail to raise the votes we need as, in our current situation, attracting floating voters is much harder than attracting flies"
The problems faced by the Green Party have resulted in the possibility of a Green/UKIP alliance being formed where Green candidates can benefit from the harnessing of ultra-strong bullshit being donated from Nigel Farage and his supporters and being used to power the alliance's cameras for future campaigns. This is however subject to UN weapons inspectors deeming that the use of such extreme bullshit would not constitute the construction of outlawed chemical weapons.
