Will & Her Grace. the popular and long running British television soap opera, continues to conquer worldwide audiences following a successful PR crusade of Australasia.
The show which is based on the relationship between a successful royal heir to the throne William Windsor and Kate, aka ‘Her Grace’ the daughter of an internet party games supplier, is set in a variety of exotic locations around the world.
The never ending story, which is mainly filmed in front of a brain dead audience, follows the couple through a permanent procession of photo opportunities where they get caught up in a non stop series of endearing antics. In one episode, while visiting an Australian Air Force base, Her Grace brings the house down climbing into the cockpit of a Harrier Jet in a knee-length fitted dress and high heels, while her hapless husband gives her the thumbs up.
A spokesman for ABC, the Australian Broadcasting Commission said, “Australian audiences really enjoy the interplay of relationships and the trials and tribulations of an enormously wealthy, privileged and cosseted British couple.”
However there has been criticism from rival networks saying that, unlike old chestnuts like Neighbours and Home & Away not enough emphasis is placed on dating, divorce and casual sex. "Surely with the aid of a few flashbacks they could get a bit of Royal toe-sucking in, the odd bugger's tryst and a nazi-themed bondage session?" said The Australian Sun's TV commentator Bruce Carmichael.
"They can then leave the comical key stereotypes such as blundering Dukes and eccentric dowagers to Downton fucking Abbey."
BBC worldwide has defended the criticism and has indicated that a cast of supporting characters will be introduced as the weeks, months and years go by. “We already have an heir to the heir who has made a couple of cameo appearances, and to counterbalance Her Grace’s grace and decorum, Will’s ditsy mother-in-law, a prescription drug addict, will be dipping in and out of the series from time to time to take care of the ‘bab’.”
In one hilarious comic episode, to be screened in May she will dress up as an air hostess on a Royal flight to Klosters. After ‘accidentally’ spilling a glass of Moet down Will’s trousers and 'mistaking' Her Grace for Oprah Winfrey she leaps out of the plane and forgets to put on her parachute. Luckily she lands on one of her own bouncy castles which Party Pieces has hired out to a hill farmer on the outskirts of Zurich.
In a magnanimous gesture the Queen has offered the use of her own royal helicopter for an action replay over the South China seas….
