Food banks throughout the country are encouraging the public to take photographs of strangers who ‘look a bit hungry’, and then post them on Facebook to highlight malnourishment. For each picture posted, it is expected that someone will donate a tin of beans.
The move comes after the success of the naked Cancer selfie, in which narcissistic cancer sympathisers raised millions by taking strategic photos of themselves in poorly lit rooms. Food banks are hoping to capitalise on the success of the initiative and increase bean donations dramatically.
Bean enthusiast, Elsie Someone of Norfolk, is said to be delighted that a reversal of her name is to be associated with something she loves.
