Cardiff City have sent a 5-page letter of complaint to the Premier League arguing that their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace in early April should not stand. The Welsh club claim to have firm evidence showing that Palace staff knew in advance that Cardiff were shit. Lawyers for the relegation threatened club allege in the letter that Palace boss Tony Pulis had watched Cardiff City play in the run up to the fixture and had even watched them a bit on Match of the Day the previous week.
Cardiff further allege that Palace had an unfair sporting advantage on account of their having 'some quite good players' and several full internationalists in their squad. A spokesman for the club said 'its just not fair, it is clear that Crystal Palace went to some length before the match to find out that we were shit and that this prior knowledge had a significant impact on the result, if they hadn't known in advance that we were shit then perhaps we wouldn't have lost those 3 goals and being quite as inept in every area of the pitch as we were'.
Palace's Sporting Director Ian Moody told reporters ' we haven't broken any rules, we had heard some rumours that they were shit and luckily for us this turned out to be the case, in fact they were even more shit than the rumours suggested'.Cardiff City owner and part-time Bond villain Vincent Tan was unavailable for comment.
