HMS Tireless, a Trafalgar-class nuclear submarine, was recently despatched to the Indian ocean to help in the search for the lost Malaysian aircraft, MH370. The Royal Navy has a proud history of 'finding' submerged objects such as other submarines and the seabed.
Colin, a dewy-eyed ex-submariner told our reporter, 'HMS Tireless herself managed to headbutt an iceberg in May 2003, so we knew we had an excellent chance'. Defence Chiefs are reported to be astonished at how fast the nuclear submarine may have achieved her goal.
Tireless was scheduled to be decommissioned in 2013, however she is still in service as of April 2014. The Secretary of State for Defence has hotly denied that the Treasury have asked him to 'kill two birds with one stone'.
