A recent survey has found that nearly half of the headlines found on online news websites in the UK in the last six months are potentially misleading to some people. It has been said, however, that this often intentionally on the part of the author of such articles, either to sensationalise a story and entice more readers, or to make a point about news headlines being misleading in a rather dull meta-ironic fashion, the latter often resulting from boredom and a desire to avoid doing work.
