the tags system, How it works, what it does and what it is supposed to do?
I'm stumped.
A tag is a label. If you write a piece about cricket, you can add the label 'cricket' to the piece. Popular labels go into the blue box on page FORUM. You can click a label in the blue box and you'll get a list of all the pieces which share that particular label. So it's a sort of search engine, but one that's open to abuse by people adding 'fart in a colander' to stories not in the least about flatulence or kitchen utensils.
I've added 'How to' as a tag. Now you can click the 'How to' tag on this page (or in the blue box) and come back here via the 'How to' listing, if you want.
The most effective way to utilize ("utilise" to you folks) tags is to add "Separated by a coma" to everything you submit. Then, and only then, will the true humor (humour) of this site become evident.
Thank you, gentlemen, for sharing your erudition with me. I'm much obliged.
And, thanks Rikkor, but I think I'll stick with the Olde English spelling of comma.
