The 86 year old TV presenter Bruce Forsyth has denied any responsibility for the excesses of the decade. However he has admitted, “It’s true there was a lot of money to be made, if you played your cards right.”
“We used to say, 'what do pounds make?, Rich people!'"
"I was the leader of the pack, which made me such a lucky Jack, but I didn’t get involved in the actual dealing. For that I had a pair of cuties, they were my darling dealing beauties”
“We were under a lot of pressure to succeed. Each week was expected to be ‘so much better than last week’!”
“We were wrong to go higher. We should have gone lower, lower!”
“Often someone would call for a freeze, but we just ignored them.”
“Despite everything that was said at the time, I wasn’t the joker in the pack. The problems were down to one ‘rogue’ dolly dealer.
“The trouble was,” said Mr. Forsyth, ”she was so appealing!”
"She was working on her own. You don't get anything for a pair - not in that game."
