Just been for a bike ride and came across 'Funton' - all it seems to be is a brick factory on a marsh, where's the fun in that?

The local sign for Ruckhall (where, to be fair, there isn't a great deal to be seen) has oft been 'modifed' with judicious use of Tippex or white paint...

There's a Twatt in Orkney, and a Twatt in Shetland. I went looking for the Twatt in Orkney last summer. No village sign though, so missed opportunity for "You are now entering Twatt" sign.

A student has changed his name to Bagheera Anthony Dairy Lea Dunkable after watching the Jungle Book. Bagheera, real name Philip Mackintosh, was encouraged by a friend to name himself after the panther in the film.
'We thought we might as well do it properly so we added the Dairy Lea Dunkable bit' said Bagheera,18.Posted 10 years ago # -
Indeed. For what is a Bagheera without it's Dairy Lea Dunkable?

Driving up near Edinburgh at the weekend I passed Cockburnspath.
Also in Northumberland we have Shilbottle which often has a modified sign.
Just down the road from there is Helm which always gives me a chuckle when I drive passed.Posted 10 years ago # -
