A train was seen leaving Paddington Station heading towards Berkshire, it was claimed to day.
The sensational claim was made by Brian Hunter, aged 46 from Newbury. "I saw this vehicle with two dim white lights, and I saw them coming towards me. ", he said. "It slowed down as it was coming towards us and then stopped. The doors opened and it played a message to try and entice me in; it was something like 'This is Slough. The next station is Reading. This is a First Great Western service for Cardiff Central, calling at Reading, Swindon, Bristol Parkway & Cardiff Central. First class accommodation is towards the front of this train". I didn't know what to do, I just stood there shaking like a leaf. Then it tried to persuade me to enter again. It said "This train is ready to depart, if you are intending to travel please board quickly using the nearest available doors".
I was scared, so I quickly tried to take a photo and then ran away. By the time I looked back it had gone. It was long and thin, just like the trains in Sci Fi movies, except there was purple and pink vomit coming out the windows at the end of the carriages and all over the engine. There was a woman originally from Switzerland with me at the time, and she thought it looked a bit like a train too. She said it was sort of like the trains she remembered as a child, but older and dirtier."
Mr Hunter states that he tried to take photos of the train, but that his hand was shaking with fear and it came out blurred. Experts say that it is difficult to tell what the photos show, and no independent evidence to confirm the sighting.
Calling for calm, Roger Pennington of the Reading Advertiser questioned the claims and advised people not to rush for the railway station. Mr Hunter was previously in the news last year, with now discredited claims that the Loch Ness monster forced him into a UFO while he was carrying haggis back from a hunt near Fort Augustus in Scotland. Mr Hunter admits that he suffers from a number of mental illnesses and takes a lot of medication, but insists that he has been well for some months and definitely saw what he describes.
