I'm confused here: does it start with an "F" [as in ukked) or with an "S" [crude]? I have been sniggering about that one all day: you couldn't make it up, even if you were writing a five volume leather bound tombstone blockbuster on the painful and wretched demise of Managerial Capitalism: you would retrace how the design looked good on paper [Hey! Great! Les's DO it! High fives and so on. Exeunt], how the copy and pre-sell PR was great [I like it, get on with it! right on: Get Biff on the blower, call Rashit back from Bali. I want more revenue from the carriers. Get it done.], how the grooming of the hapless captives of this iffy mania got them calmed down long enough to accept the prospect of strangled web access rvices and so forth in time for a BIG hike in GB costs when I4 opened at a premium, only to bomb at the last hurdle: DOH, I CAIN'T GET NO gigabytes anyhow.
Is it a song? Take a star.

Steve Jobs says it's quite normal and users must be holding the phones incorrectly. If I had one and was told that, I'd be inclined to insert it into Mr Jobs rectum with considerable force. Just to see if I could get a signal, mind.

I've been brooding about this some more: So. Users are not holding the phones correctly. Let's see how it works. Up comes chap with 2 hands/feet. Removes shoes & socks, and in the lotus position (nice commercical tie-in, there), grasps i4phone between the soles of his feet, bringing it level with his mouth, no! - wait! - behind his head, that's how it goes. Jobs is right! this is not the correct position - though a correct yogi posture - for holding a phone. Hmm.
How many more correct positions unsuitable for holding a phone can we find?

You're right, Mr Cariot, that would be an incorrect way for Mr Jobs to hold his iPhone4. Not much revenue there, from the carriers.

A question arises, though: If not all of the proud new iPhone4 users have complained, is it because most of them believe they merely have a defective handset, or that it's not properly charged yet? Or that the number hasn't ported across properly? Or they haven't paid their last bill...reminds me of that old chestnut joke: there are x million people the world and half of them are x, so that leaves x people and half of them are... Yes: the iPhone Story could give new life to that dear old joke.
So those complaining that their phone doesn't get a signal are in none of those categories and are only the ones who have dared to frame the horror in words.
It's got a lot going for it, this sorry tale.
