A Scottish accent belonging to the Education Secretary, Michael Gove, has wandered into a police station in Glasgow after being missing for nearly 30 years.
In a statement, the strong Aberdeen accent told police “Me an’ Mikey wis drivin’ doon tae Oxford an’ that, when he pulled ower at a layby near tae Carlisle. He towd me he wis takin’ five and that ah could git oot fae a walk if ah wanted. So ah’m havin’ a jimmy in the heather an, the neist thing ah ken he’s speedin’ aff doon the motorway.
Ah wis so shocked ah went a’ peely-wally fae aboot 28 years and totally lost ma memory. It wis only when ah saw him on telly tawkin a’ poshified that ah got mah memory back. Ah’ve tried gettin’ in touch wi’Mikey but ah guess he’s jist happier wi’ the new accent. It’s…….like he never knew me.”
