If you have comments or suggestions about my subs, I would prefer you added them to the original thread, rather than attempt a re-write on a new thread under your name (albeit with a credit to the original writer at the end).
I know you wrote a book about the civil war, and I know you have a writer-of-the-month mug, but this is not the way to do things.
If the editors want to chop my piece up before putting it out then that's fine. It's their website.Posted 2 years ago # -
Interesting. Possible breach of n-betiquette by Oxy here?
I stand firmly by the wiki-writing philosophy and am generally flattered when people make an effort to improve my work. But I agree with Golgo, it is more common to add to the original rather than present a re-write like this.
I expect a fight will break out soon.
PS I wouldn't set much store by the altruistic intentions of our founding fathers, see here:
"My plan is to get young talented humourists all over the world to send their stuff to me. Then I can rubbish their material, destroy their self-confidence and hopefully postpone any serious competition in all media for another decade or so."

There you go, taken it off. No offence intended nor was I trying to steal your thunder as it was perfectly clear the idea was yours. I thought this might improve its chances - last time that happened it made FP, but up to you. Humour is obviously a very serious business. [flounce]

By all means add your rewrite to the original thread. This was not a rejection of your input. I've been on Newsbiscuit for 3 weeks, and I do not know it all. As Zadok says, this is a collaborative enterprise, and ideas are welcome.
