According to a normally reliable source (a calendar), football’s January transfer window is tipped to finish on 31 January at midnight. The rumour has gained credence as the calendar has in recent times successfully picked the date on which Christmas falls, and also the date that the New Year starts.
Man United manager David Moyes was one who refused to buy into the calendar’s hype, and he said he was confident January had at least 50 days and therefore there was plenty of time to complete much needed transfers.
“Those calendars are being off-loaded at 70% off at WH Smiths, so obviously they can’t be trusted” said Moyes. “I wouldn’t give them the time of day.”
