Blasting their previous record into insignificance, Cheshire couple Andy and Daphne Harries, announced they had managed to uphold their pledge to not drink any alcohol until their neices's wedding in April for a record one day, beating their previous pledge to not drink until April by a record day.
'Andy decided that we should have a couple of shorts to celebrate beating our previous record of two hours, but he did wake up after the new year's day celebrations with a horrific hangover and swore to never drink again. He later changed this to pledging to never swear again - except when he wakes with a horrific hangover.'
Andy also noted that waking-up sober in the year of their neices's wedding was a triumph to celebrate; with wife Daphne adding she would 'Drink to that'.
The Harries have now pledged to return to their alcohol abstinence with immediate effect. Daphne confirmed 'We are determined to keep to our new pledge, at least until the next big family celebration. Sadly Tommy our goldfish is six years old tomorrow and we need to raise a glass to him - or her, and that spider under the sofa is probably three on Monday.I think the spider also had babies, and their heads need to be wetted over the next couple of weeks.'
'These creatures are so selfish and inconsiderate' added Andy, Cheers'.
