Applying for a maths course, I thought I might try to appear "well-rounded" so I put "Russian Literature" on my interests, thinking that I had time to read a couple of the classics before the interviews...didn't get round to it, and they asked me to say what I thought of the writers I had come across, and were there any common themes among them. It was horrible.
One of my nightmares is that you lot (society) have been secretly filming all my job/university interviews, all my chat-up lines and break-up lines, all my attempts to speak French and that at some point, I'll walk into a room of laughing people watching it...or I'll pop into a DVD rental store, and there'll be a whole corner devoted to DVD compilations of humiliating moments from my life...browsing customers will look round, do a double take and whisper to each other "Fuck! He's here!...why didn't we get the 5 minute warning he was in the area???"
...anyway, back to your question. Mention it, but be prepared to have some examples ready when they ask you to say something funny.
