Does anybody have any new TV/Radio comedies they recommend? I seem to be sticking with the tried and tested Have I got news for you/mock the week/news quiz/I'm sorry I haven't a clue type stuff at the moment. Cheers.

I'm going through a bit of a Flight of the Conchords phase - not sure if it's "on" right now, but there's YouTube...

There's some great older stuff on 4oD that's worth a watch if you missed them first time round: Green Wing, The I.T Crowd, Spaced, Black Books, Brass Eye. Star Stories is on there too which I liked, but I think I was the only person who did.
My current comedy guilty pleasures are Family Guy and American Dad - crude, silly and rather fun.

Don't forget Father Ted, too, shitsu, unless you were trying not to return to prehistoric times.
FotC, Black Books and Green Wing - a bit of sparkle.

I'm finding a lot of joy in american comedies at the moment as there seems to be a resurgence in the well written stuff that they used to churn out.
Big Bang Theory is a great program and I'm surprised it's been so popular given the geek factor associated with it.
How I met your mother is like Friends but with jokes, and good characters.
I'm even enjoying The Ricky Gervais Show!
But I completely agree with Shitsu, 4od is the way forward. Some cracking stuff on there which I have spent many a drowsy Sunday working off hangovers in bed watching on the laptop. Stuff like Man To Man with Dean Learner.Posted 2 years ago # -
I was mulling an idea for a sub based around overegging the DVD piracy thingy. And discovered that The IT Crowd had already done it:
"You wouldn't steal a handbag. You wouldn't steal a car. You wouldn't steal a baby. You wouldn't shoot a policeman. And then steal his helmet. You wouldn't go to the toilet in his helmet. And then send it to the policeman's grieving widow. And then steal it again! Downloading films is stealing. If you do it, you will face the consequences." (Man bursts in behind the girl downloading the film and point a pistol at the back of her head and a pool of blood is then seen on the keyboard)

Green Wing for sure! (and can whoever borrowed by Green Wing box set of DVDs please return them or lend them to Peter?)

I like Star Stories too, it's the only thing that makes me really snort with laughter these days.

the New series of the IT crowd starts Friday night 25th June 2010 10pm on CH4.
"Inbetweeners" is worth a look at on E4 as is "How Not To Live Your Life" on BBC3

There's a sketch show for kids which I quite like: I'm Sorry I've Lost My Head
It's on Cbeebies

Modern Family is also quite good on Sky

Cheers ladies, gents and assorted creatures.
I've seen a couple of those before, but I have been meaning to watch Conchords for what seems like ages. Same goes for Green Wing.
Got to admit a bit of guilty pleasure for Big Bang Theory as well. Being a bit of a nerd myself some of it is way too close to home!
I wonder what we did before iPlayer and 4od. I'll definitely be checking out some of your suggestions sooner or later.
Thanks

Big train is a definite must.

Every one has covered all my bases, but how about "Cabin Pressure" (R4 Comedy series)? It's one of my faves.

Lab Rats. Fell after a single series but I loved its sureal silliness - and the lab setting.
