Local Man, Matthew Gratton, became the latest to feel the 21st century emotion of SatNavisfaction when his newly acquired Garmin Nuvi 265, which comes with a 3.5" touch screen and pre-loaded UK and Western Europe maps, not only directed him to his destination, the business park in Hounslow where he works, but also chose the exact same route that he normally uses.
"I've never really thought about that route. I just chose the one that made the most sense to me. To find out that my Sat Nav picks the exact same route - right down to the last turn - makes me feel like some kind of traffic savant."
Although at time of writing Matthew has no plans to go anywhere he doesn't know how to get to, he does intend to see if his own intuitive route to the big Tesco by the A3 will be similarly vindicated by his £149.99 gadget.
