TV cook Nigella Lawson, claiming that court costs in the fraud case involving former employees of herself and ex-husband Charles Saatchi have left her “paying through the nose”, is this weekend to release a cover version of the seasonal standby ‘White Christmas’ in a bid to raise funds.
“I have always loved the song. For me, it somehow evokes soft, powdery snow covering the roads until they resemble white lines,” she said. Lawson cut the song earlier in the week with producer Pete Doherty. Fellow kitchen maestro Heston Blumenthal has also stepped outside his comfort zone to provide a Cake Mix of the track.
