Viewers of TV quiz show Pointless are outraged today as it is revealed that the trademark lack of chemistry between hosts Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman is entirely fabricated.
Following complaints from confused members of a studio audience, the BBC confessed to use of "canned periods of uncomfortable silence" throughout the series. One viewer said "I went to see the show expecting to feel that palpable sense of unease that I get at home, but Armstrong and Osman were bouncing off each other like Vic and Bob. It was a riot, we all felt quite cheated."
When questioned, the BBC stated "It was important for us to edit out the points when Zander has a rapport with the contestants as to not distract from the trivia"
ITV are looking to take legal action for using copyrighted audio from that time Parkie interviewed Meg Ryan.
