as i sit here surrounded by mounds of fake designer sunglasses, bought as the consequence of an irrisistable urge following the lengthy, erudite, informative and utterly persuasive posts on newsbiscuit, i can give but limited affirmation to the premise propunded by the initiator of this thread. the posts by the vendor of these items supplied such detailed technical appraisal of the merchandise which they were purveying that i was unable to withstand the psychological pressure caused by an appeal both to my vanity and to a natural desire to provide the most effective possible protection for my ocular senses. contrary to popular expectation, the utility of such devices is at least as beneficial to the wearer of such devices in the winter parts of the eath's annual meteorlogical cycle as it is in the summer part of that cycle, due to the geometrical and astronomical fact that althought the sun may spend a greater part of its time at a higher elevation during th summer months and, in addition, is visible above the horizon for a greater daily duration, thus providing more intense illumination for more protracted periods of time, it remains the case that during the winter months the sun's average elevation is somewhat less with the result that there is a greater probability of the sun lying within the cone of vision of the average citizen or at least those who are outdoors or even to some extent indoors since there is a greater opportunity for the solar radiation to enter buildings through their windows. in this respect there is almost as great or even arguable perhaps a greater case to be made for the wearing of protective eye-wear during the winter period than during the summer period. the preferenvce for designer versions of these items (and by which i more accurately mean, when using the word "designer", items designed by a more artistic stylist as distinct from an actual designer who strictly speaking would be responsible primarily for the mechanical and optical performance aspects of the implements, with regard to both the purely functional aspect of their desgn and to facilitating their economic manufacture, covering among other considerations both the materials used and the manner and sequence of their assembly, but not less functional aspects such as their colour or any applied decoration. notwithstanding, the psychological benefit of wearing items which are perceived by their wearer to enhance both their appearance and apparent affluence cannot be ignored. the other aspect to be bourne in mind when considering the purchase of these implements is the question of authenticity, as ecapsulated in the use of the work "fake" which may in the opinion of some readers imply a degree of inferiority yet this may be considered a spurious consideration, for the following reason: when using the word "desiger" to refer to what is, in reality, entirely a matter of stying, this should indicate that this relates primarily to the superficial appearance rather than to ththe functional aspects of their mechanical construction. given that the appearnce is superficial, provded the appearance is replicated with a reasonable degree of accuracy the cosmetic and decorative aspect will be effectively provided, thus achieving the principal function in purely visual regards. the finacial benefit of using less than completely authentic stylists but employing ones who receive smaller remuneration but are capable of simulating the apperance of the products of their expensively promoted genuine competitors is not inconsiderable. so - are you going to buy these bloody sunglasses off me or not?
