Reports that Department of Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith is working as a shelf stacker at an East Midlands Poundland store have been dismissed by the store's manager.
Mr Duncan Smith, who has been rarely seen in public since his welfare benefit reforms started to unravel and Chancellor George Osborne reportedly described him as 'thick', once visited the Easterhouse estate in Glasgow to experience poverty at first hand.
But Poundland manager said sightings of Mr Duncan Smith in his store were mistaken.
'OK,'he said.'We've got this bald geezer stacking shelves who looks a bit like Iain, but he's a local man I employ as a casual worker.
'Stan's usually pissed, mixes up the baked beans with the mushy peas, and is always late. So he can't be the same guy as the incompetent twat who dreamt up Universal Credit.'
