Now Harry - who famously hates the cold weather - is frantically hunting around for a really good reason why he should need to spend the next couple of weeks on a tropical island, rather than slogging across miles of frozen wilderness to plant a flag at the south pole in a display of 'solidarity' with his army colleagues.
His original escape route of a diplomatic trip to the Philippines has been scuppered by some sort of national emergency involving flooding, storm-force winds, and lots of dead and homeless people, which is not really the 'island paradise' that he had imagined. With only two weeks before departure, he is getting desparate - insiders say that he is even considering an invitation to holiday on Necker Island with Richard Branson.
