The former Police Chief of Gotham City, Chief Seumas Xavier O'Hara has been appointed by the Home Secretary to head up the Police Ombudsman's Office in the wake of a number of high profile scandals including Plebgate and the Hillsborough cover-up.
Asked by journalists what measures he intended to take to restore public confidence in the Police, O'Hara responded in an unconvincing transatlantic Irish brogue "Have no fear, Citizens, we will be forever vigilant against the divilish denizens of darkness like that Twisted Tomfool, the Joker and his Quacking Cohort the Penguin." Pressed on what concrete measures he would take to restore transparency and credibility to the Police complaints procedure, Chief O'Hara gestured dramatically to a large red telephone.
Asked why, if she had to choose a fictitious character from Batman, she chose to appoint an ombudsman from the wet, campy 60's version rather than the superior, darker contemporary version, the Home Secretary responded "Gary Oldman wanted too much money. And besides, he looks like Ned Flanders." And you know, he really does. It's quite creepy.
