When charged with cycling along a pavement and through a gate into a public park, Kevin Jones, 12, from the nearby Llandfill council estate alleged that PC Evans had shouted at him "Oi, you! Get off that effing bike. Who do you think you are, an effing minister? This ain't effing Downing Street."
PC Evans had earlier told the court, on oath, that the defendant had been riding a 3,00cc Harley Davidson at 130mph and had ridden through the park gates directly towards him, brandishing a sawn-off shotgun. Despite a thorough search of the whole of Llandfill, however, the police have been unable to find a motorcycle remotely resembling that described by PC Evans or any shotgun.
A witness however, PC Lloyd, who was in plain clothes and on holiday in Benidorm at the time, told the court "Yeah, I was there, I was right by and I seen it all, really clear like. The guy was on a chopped Honda and waving an Uzi and he stopped and threatened us."
