I saw this in the Beano. When I was a child. Many, many, many,many years ago.
So you'll be thanking me for bringing it up to date, for a new computer-savvy generation...
I have to say that this was a common gag during the first Iraq war, that the soldiers were issued with sheets of sandpaper to navigate by.
The bringing-up-to-date thing doesn't work for Satnavs. Might do for an evolution of Kindle Paperweight if they stick GPS in it in a year or two.
...not sure I get the woman bit. Maybe there was a news item I missed. Um.. does any of that sound constructive?
There's a news item about Saudi women protesting about not being allowed to drive, but I don't think that adds to this joke - which, incidentally, I hadn't heard before. Must get out more. Applies to most of us, I guess.
