Metropolitan police were call out to a London pub, today, in order to prevent a group of lads from the North kicking up a riot, due to a pub barman serving shandy (a mixture of beer and lemonade) in a ladies' glass.
An unofficial spokesman for the lads, Ted Openshaw, said, 'It's just not reet, that Northern lads like us, have to drink shandy in a women's glass, of all things, down in London. So I reckon that this Southern, Cockney, barman should do the decent thing and pour our shandies into a more manly glass, like barmen do in pubs up North. Aint that reet, lads?
