Mrs Deborah Falden, 32 of Northants, has been accused of racism after calling her 7 year son Peter a 'Cheeky Monkey'.
Mr Bill Harrow, headteacher of the primary school that Peter attends said "Mrs Falden was giving Peter his lunch bag as she left him at the school gates this morning, and was laughing with him when she playfully patted him on the head and called him a, well, I don't know if I should say it... a 'Cheeky Monkey'"
A loud gasp from reporters interrupted Mr Harrow at this stage, allowing him to regain his composure.
"Several parents complained because whilst Peter isn't black, he does have very dark brown hair" he continued, nervously pausing before each statement as if pre-assessing the words he was about to utter.
"In this day and age, I can't believe she said it! We have several children at the school with brown hair, and even some parents. Even if we didn't we can't have people wandering around making comments like that. How are the kids supposed to learn to live amongst others? We have referred Mrs Falden to a race awareness course, and the authorities have been informed" said Mr Harrow.
Mrs Falden is said to be mortified and ashamed by her actions, claiming that she has been under a lot of pressure lately, not sleeping well, and trying to cope with having a younger child that is ginger, and simply wasn't thinking when she said it.
Mr Harrow said "I just hope we can put the whole episode behind us, and as a community come together and support each other through the aftermath of this unfortunate incident. We sincerely hope that this shocking event doesn't leave a black mark against the school... oh wait... no, sorry, I didn't mean that, I mean a er, um... smear. Yes, that's it, a smear.... Ohhhh, fuck it, I will go and tender my resignation now..."
