Ambitious amateur photographer Karl Watson says he's taken the plunge and removed red-eye from his family holiday photographs but is refusing to enhance them.
'I've removed the wife's red-eye in the one where she's eating an ice cream on the seafront at Skegness,' he says, 'but for professional reasons I draw the line at enhancement as I'm sure would David Bailey.'
Since acquiring a smartphone, Mr Watson says he's been 'snapping away' and often treats his wife to three hour slideshows of his efforts.
Mr Watson is also saying a firm no to cropping although he once relented when a snap of his wife at the zoo included a high definition close-up of two copulating orangutans with red-eye.
'The foot of a zoo keeper was in the shot,' Mr Watson said.
