A man who cannot be named for legal reasons has been accused of cheating in a recent contest organised by QuizBiscuit, the organisation which supplies quizzes, horoscopes, gardening tips, discussion about rectal examinations, recipies, advertisements for fake designer sunglasses, celebrity interviews and other mindless twaddle to fill up all the blank pages of NewsBiscuit, a little-known and widely disregarded source of news stories only marginally less silly than real ones.
Nothing has been revealed as a result of police investigation so far, and international crime investigation agencies are not known to be involved. It is unclear to what extent bribery or criminal gangs of corrupt Far Eastern bookmakers, engaged in quiz spot-fixing frauds, are invloved.
A brown, stick-like object is believed to be assisting the appropriate authorities with their enquiries.
In connection with a not totally unrelated matter, an unknown individual who may or may not be trading under the name of Spartacus has not been asked to comment. It has not been revealed whether investigations are continuing.
