A Manchester United spokesman today broke the news to the Sotck Exchange that the Alex Ferguson clone is progressing very nicely and should be ready in time to take over for the 2014 season.
"It really is just a case a of monitoring his development now. His ageing has started to decelerate on schedule so at the moment he still thinks he works in docks in Glasgow. We are hoping that the awkward 1986 Ferguson phase should be reached in time for the end of 2013 by which time he can be introduced to the Ferguson Mark 1 for conditioning".
Manchester United have hailed Chief Science Officer Otto von Fronkenschtein as the driving force behind their new Internal Talent Generation Scheme (ITGS).
"Yes, the ITGS has had few bumps along the way, but Ferguson Mark 2 is a marvel of modern footballing science" enthused Dr Fronkenschtein. When pressed about the 'bumps along the way' he said they were irrelevant and changed the subject quickly. However, rumours have reached us from a club insider that a demonic experiment called Roy Keane Mark 2 roams the corridors of Old Trafford at night demanding the legs and brains of Alf-Inge Haaland. Also, on certain days a flock of minute cherubic, winged Ole Gunnar Solksjaers hover around the Old Trafford six yard boxes only scattering when a fifteen feet tall Jaap Stam lumbers out from his hovel beneath the stands.
David Moyes mark 1 was unavailable for comment as he was being recharged.
