Thousands of undergraduates are dropping out of university on discovering their iPads are full of academic texts.
'I thought it was cool when I got an iPad to use at uni,' said Brad Baker, who is studying English Literature. 'Then I found out it was full of academic stuff. Sixty-eight gigabytes of Anglo-Saxon shit really freaked me out,' he said.'I had to delete Angry Birds and stuff that mattered to make room for it. I'm well-gutted.'
A university admissions tutor said the 'culture shock' of discovering that iPads could used to store 'nasty intellectual content' was too much for some students.
'We had the same problem in the past with libraries and textbooks,' he said.
'It's rubbish,' said Brad. 'It's turned my iPad into a kind of electronic textbook and what's the point of that? I'm out of here.'
