A nationwide search for missing teen Mandy Lusted (14) has been called off after she was found safe and well in a world of her own.
The schoolgirl was last seen on Friday evening going up to her bedroom wearing her school uniform. When she failed to respond to knocks on her door, her parents contacted the police.
'She's usually quite good at answering her door,' said Mrs Lusted, 'so we panicked.'
When no trace could be found of the schoolgirl meeting strangers over the internet or of her being seen on CCTV cameras at railway stations, the police contacted psychologists who advised she may be in a world of her own.
Detective Bill Williams, who led the hunt, said Mandy was discovered lying on her bed 'oblivious to all the fuss and completely lost in a world of her own'.
'I suppose she was dreaming about that Justin Bieber again,' said Mandy's mum.
